So where did I stop. Oh yeah, after coming back from mission in Patagonia it was all go again. I packed my small car in Europe and headed to Slovenia for two weeks of work for Gene17. Great weather, good groups and emerald waters of Soca. Overall amazing start of the season in Europe. After Soca I met my buddy Jakub Nemec and his lovely wife Meg Smith and we left to Corsica for some low water creeking. Even though the waterlevels were not exactly great, we had an amazing weather and great time kayaking on some of the classics.
From Corsica we were off to Italy to film with the WW8 crew and at that moment I was so glad for my implosion bar SD expedition armortex spraydeck. Me and Jakub decided to run the infamous Devil’s slide on the Sorba river in Italy. The level was great, we were motivated and felt up for it. Jakub Nemec went first, sticked an amazing line and soon was waving at me from the eddy around 20 or so meters below. My turn. I landed little awkward onto the first part fo the slide and soon hit the middle hole. It was a penalty time and after some seconds I made it out and ran the rest of the slide. I was very grateful my sprayskirt stayed on in this situation and many more previous ones. So huge thanks and thumbs up to you guys.
After our filming mission was completed, I headed off to Italy for two weeks of kayaking on granite paradise of Piemonte. Again, good crews and the weather was bomb. After two weeks of coaching, we had coupke days off before the first Val Sesia festival kicked in and the whole Gene17 staff was fully occupied with organizing the event. The festival was a great success and I ended up 5th in the freeride event and hit semifinals in kayak cross.
I had a week to chill and enjoy calming up atmosphere in Val Sesia and soon I was off to Teva mountain games in Ivrea. Great time catching up with all the friends from around the world. I got 4th in the King of the Falls race and overall had a great time. At the moment I have been two months in Norway and it has been amazing. Thanks Snap Dragon for keeping me safe and dry on the water.
